I have considered doing medical transcription jobs at home for several years now. I enjoy typing and I find the career fascinating in the way it provides access to the medical community. I am currently a public high school teacher. During summer breaks, I have found temporary positions doing data entry and similar jobs. I recently got married and had a child. In addition, my school district has had to forgo providing raises to employees for the past two years. The lack of a pay increase and the new additional expenses of a family have really energized me to pursue this field more aggressively in order to supplement my income in a way that will not take me away from my family the way a traditional second job would.

I find that medical transcription serves several purposes for me. It provides me with an opportunity to interact in the medical field. I had previously considered a career in this field but teaching won my heart. Becoming a medical transcriptionist allows me to achieve this goal. It is a flexible career path. I can choose to work as much or as little as my lifestyle allows and as a result, I can control my earnings as well. I currently have a full time job teaching but my day ends at 3:00 p.m. and I have several breaks throughout the year that can be filled with medical transcription assignments. There is also a certain degree of portability with this career. Wherever I live, I can easily pick up assignments with less effort than seeking a traditional job. As previously mentioned, the flexibility also can motivate me to work more or less depending on my financial needs and goals. This is a benefit unique to the medical transcription field. In addition, working from home will also provide me with additional tax incentives and benefits that will save me money as well. SN:1MA0N2ESY

Future MT appears to streamline the training and provides flexibility for each individual learning style and pace. There is no deadline and a number of ways to receive support during completion of the course. As a teacher, that appeals to me. Future MTs also provides all the materials I will need not only to complete my training but that I can utilize as I begin my career as a medical transcriptionist. It provides these things at a price that is unbeatable! A quality education at a reasonable price is a special find. Furthermore, upon completion of the course, Future MTs provides several services that virtually guarantee that I will find assignments and make connections with others in the industry as I begin my new career and help me find online medical transcriptionist jobs. Of course, the first thing that I am seeking is employment as a medical transcriptionist. I would like to obtain a certain degree of experience before the next step. I have already looked into receiving certification as a medical transcriptionist. I believe that going this extra step will set me apart from other MTs and show that I am serious about this career field as well as that I am confident in my training. Once I have achieved that designation, I will feel even more confident in seeking employment opportunities. At that time, I will establish a more permanent business with a website and effective marketing strategies that advocate this field and my services.

I’m living in Colombo,Sri lanka. I’m a Degree holder in bachelor in Unani medicine and surgery (University of Colombo). I’m interesting to learn Medical Transcription because Medical Transcription is one of the sunrises in BPO industry with immense growth opportunities and is an interesting, challenging and paying career. This industry is facing some very peculiar circumstances regarding skilled manpower, which entails some challenging problems. The MT industry’s major bottleneck is lack of quality Medical Transcriptionists. An informal observation of the industry itself will show some obvious signs of huge demand supply gap for productive Medical Transcriptionists. Medical Transcription is one of the fastest-growing fields in health care. I can play a vital role in health care delivery by creating clear, readable medical documents from doctors’ audiotaped patient notes. These documents will be used for medical care, medical recordkeeping, insurance reimbursement, and, in some cases, legal proceedings.

With experience, medical transcriptionists can advance to supervisory positions, medical transcription jobs at home, editing, consulting, or teaching. Some become owners of medical transcription businesses. With additional education or training, some become medical records and health information technicians, medical coders, or medical records and health information administrators. Employment of online medical transcriptionist jobs are projected to grow 14 percent from 2006 to 2016, faster than the average for all occupations. Demand for medical transcription services will be spurred by a growing and aging population. Older age groups receive proportionately greater numbers of medical tests, treatments, and procedures that require documentation. A high level of demand for transcription services also will be sustained by the continued need for electronic documentation that can be shared easily among providers, third-party payers, regulators, consumers, and health information systems. Growing numbers of medical transcriptionists will be needed to amend patients’ records, edit documents from speech recognition systems, and identify discrepancies in medical reports.

Contracting out transcription work overseas and advancements in speech recognition technology are not expected to significantly reduce the need for well-trained medical transcriptionists. Outsourcing transcription work abroad—to countries such as India, Pakistan, Philippines, and the Caribbean—has grown more popular as transmitting confidential health information over the Internet has become more secure; however, the demand for overseas transcription services is expected only to supplement the demand for well-trained domestic medical transcriptionists. In addition, reports transcribed by overseas medical transcription services usually require editing for accuracy by domestic medical transcriptionists before they meet U.S. quality standards. Speech-recognition technology allows physicians and other health professionals to dictate medical reports to a computer that immediately creates an electronic document. SN:0MA9N2ESY

In spite of the advances in this technology, the software has been slow to grasp and analyze the human voice and the English language, and the medical vernacular with all its diversity. As a result, there will continue to be a need for skilled medical transcriptionists to identify and appropriately edit the inevitable errors created by speech recognition systems, and to create a final document. Job opportunities will be good, especially for those who are certified. Hospitals will continue to employ a large percentage of medical transcriptionists, but job growth there will not be as fast as in other industries. An increasing demand for standardized records should result in rapid employment growth in physicians’ offices, especially in large group practices.

I am an active mother of 6 kids who currently works full time for a major corporation. The job is not enjoyable, they pay well, but that is the only way they are able to get people to stay. For 7 years I had worked from home for this company, and the day after my 6th baby was born I found out they were pulling our at home positions. It was very upsetting. Working from home can be difficult, to balance life and work! I had learned to master this skill with minimal stress. Being forced into working in the office was not what I had in mind when I was working from home! It has been very difficult trying to make our life work around being gone for 3, 12 hour days. I have considered entering the medical field for quite some time, because I feel that it is a very steady area of work. People are always going to need healthcare. This means there are always medical transcription jobs.

Medical transcriptioning brings together my need to work from home and my interest in the medical field. Most of us still need to work when children come along but this career will allow that to happen while still focusing on family! Future MT seems like a good fit for me because I can go at my own pace. I can work on it in my home on my days off from my other job. Live mentoring will really help me make it through those tough spots in the course study. Knowing someone is there to help you makes me feel secure with this program. I loved that the course cd-rom not only offers course study, but also a fun way to learn with the learning games that are included. What really impressed me was that Future MT not only provides you excellent education, but will also help you locate a job at the end of the course, which means a lot to a busy mother. SN:0MA9N2ESY

We all know that finding a job can be very difficult. With Future MT behind me in the job search process it will make things much easier! Within the next few years I would like to see myself back at home with a job in Medical Transcriptioning for a large company or hospital. This would allow me to contribute financially to our large family, yet still have time for the important little things that happen in everyday life. After all of the children are in school I would like to expand my medical transcriptioning career into a Medical Transcriptioning business to help others with their medical transcriptioning careers as well. Life can change on a dime, however having a medical transcription jobs at home will create stability and security for me. I hope to flourish with my new career in Medical transcriptioning. With excellent courses and Future MT behind me I am sure this hope will become a reality! I am very excited to get started building my new career with Medical Transcriptioning and Future MT!

I am an aspiring transcriptionist, many schools and programs make you take additional unneeded classes that only slow your progress on your dream. The advantages of this program are endless to me. This program would help me achieve my dream of one day becoming a MT and the scholarship would ensure that. To be a medical transcriptionist work at home and being with my baby would be the greatest thing in this world. Watching over my baby and making sure that they stay unharmed while I am working is a dream that this program grants. I wouldn’t have to stay away all day long and hire a baby sitter and waste of extra money that I could use to provide and care for that child. I want to be a role model and show others that I can work from home and make great money doing it, and without being away from my children. Medical transcription jobs at home ensure my children’s schooling, wants, needs, and keep food on the table. Getting a job in this particular area would be my goal in five years.

Actually working from home and being around my entire family without the excuse that I am working or I am going to be working that day would be mind blowing. Having my own flexible schedule would also be great. Being able to work and not have phone calls saying that I have to leave and miss out on money that I could be making because of my kids would “literally” be a heavy block off of my back. I have taken class after class in my current local Community College to become a Medical Transcriptionist, but i have yet to see one class that is based on that study or particular area. All that I am taking now is general ed classes, such as (English, math, history, and typing). It is a pity that all of these schools require you to take additional classes that has nothing to do with Medical Transcription. This program would do the opposite, I would be taking the classes I need to be a medical transcriptionist and be getting closer and closer to my career instead of getting further away. SN:0MA9N2ESY

Future MT makes me even more determined to achieve my goal than ever. All of the Success stories on their page and others that I have read about the program make my hopes grow larger that my dream is only a step away. And getting into this program would be just a little scoot. As I said before the advantages of this program would be endless to me because my family means the world to me along with being able to help provide for them and my growing family. And being able to work from home and watch my growing family as I know that they are safe because I am there watching them.

Since becoming physically disabled, I have searched for a way to make a living from home to supplement my existing income. I draw compensation for my disability that I acquired while serving in the Desert Storm Desert Shield Campaign. I like typing and working with a computer, so medical transcriptionist seemed to be the best avenue. It has taken me several years to find the best suited program for me since I am not able to travel to a traditional classroom setting. Online learning allows me to learn the skills that are required to become a medical transcriptionist while doing as little traveling as possible. Plus, jobs in medical transcription will always be in demand in future outlooks.

The medical transcriptionist industry will allow me to work from home which allows me to put as little strain on my physical disability as possible. Having advanced stages degenerative disc joint disease does not allow me much movement outside my home. This industry occupation will also allow me to spend more time working and visiting with my family since I do not have to travel from my home to my job. My job will always be there when I wake up and am ready to start my work day. There is nothing like waking up and doing your job in your PJs. I can also save on gas and the environment by not having to travel to work in a car or car pool. As I have already stated the medical transcriptionist industry is short on those who are capable of performing the duties required as a medical transcriptionist. This occupation will allow me to help those in need while they are getting the medical attention of which they are in need. At this stage in my life I feel that becoming a medical transcriptionist will not only supplement my income, but it will also help keep my mind young by allowing me to use my mind with my occupational duties. SN:0MA9N2ESY

I like learning new things and medical transcriptionist knowledge will help me understand my body and how it is supposed to work. Not only will it help me in gaining the knowledge to understand my body systems, it will also be an addition to my home-based business. There are medical transcription jobs at home so it will be a nice addition to my home business and the income that I am already taking in from the other services that I provide to individuals. I provide simple bookkeeping and tax returns at home. Along with those two services I am adding Kentucky Notary services. My home business is just getting off the ground floor, and while it is successful it is slow going. After several months of deliberation I deduced that adding medical transcriptionist to the existing services would double my income allowing me a comfortable living at this stage of life. I am confident that by adding this service to my business it will be more of a success than it is at present. In addition, medical transcriptionist work will keep me off social security disability and allow me the freedom I require to work from home. It will also help me get back on my feet after total hip replacement surgery that I am facing.

I am 41 years old. I am married and a mother of 2 daughters, one 20 and one 14. My oldest daughter is in college in the Merchandising and Marketing field and my youngest daughter just started high school. I have lived in the Dallas area for over 20 years. I am interested in learning more about the medical transcription at home for 2 reasons. One of which has just become more evident to me. My older sister was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer 3 years ago. She has had her bladder and one of her kidneys removed. Since the surgeries she has become ill several times and has now been diagnosed with Characinoid Malignancy. Previous to my sister’s cancer diagnosis, my father passed away of Heart Disease and after that my grandmother of several different issues related to Heart Disease. I have just realized the lack of my knowledge around the terrible diseases we call Cancer and Heart Disease and would like to learn more about them.

I know that this field is very complex and would really enjoy the opportunity to learn through Transcription work, the details and explanations of different medical issues. I have always considered medical transcription jobs at home and would enjoy the opportunity now to pursue it due to its flexible in home work schedule. I will be providing care alternately with my mother for my sister during this very difficult time. It looks as though my sister will have to be transferred to MD Anderson in Houston for another round of tests and possible another surgery to remove the cancer that has just been diagnosed. This will be an overwhelming procedure for her again. Her family has to deal with the Cancer word all over again. I just feel like I have a handicap not knowing some of the basic things to ask and have done lots of research on the internet to learn about different types of cancers and heart disease. I just recently participated in the American Heart Association heart walk here in Dallas to raise funds for research in Heart Disease.SN:0MA9N2ESY

I know there are lots of strides being made every day in these areas of medicine and I fill like I could contribute to the education of everyday folks like myself if I had the training to learn some important information around these fields. I have presently been in the Administrative field for over 18 years and have just now realized that I need to learn more in the medical field for not only myself but for my immediate family as well. It would seem as though I have some medical issues in my family history and I would love to take this opportunity now to be proactive in learning all that there is to know and becoming a personal conduit for helping many others if they are ever finding themselves in the same situation that my sister and her family is in.

As with most young people I held vague dreams for the future. Having graduated as a linguist, speaking 5 languages, one of mine were becoming a professional translator at the UN in New York, however, with my native language being Danish, there were obviously limited need for my services in that august body – what other options were open to me? While weighing these options, I was attending Secretarial Academy and I was also working for one of the major multinational corporations’ Copenhagen headquarters and was making remarkable progress up the career ladder. I found myself trapped in the usual corporate infighting and was forced to do some serious soul-searching, with respect to what to do with my life?

I decided to enroll in a course to become a Medical Secretary and during the year that followed struggled through anatomy, biology, Latin and a number of other subjects, which did not initially spark any deep interest in me, but being rather intelligent and with aptitude for learning, it all settled in and to this day is still with me. I recently went through some material from an online Medical Transcription course – just scanned through the anatomy lessons and found that there was nothing new there, excepting one system of the human body, which I had to look up. I have been thinking about adding a Medical Transcriptionist course to my education for several years now – I have come full circle, one could say, but for various reasons I never seriously pursued it. One of those reasons being lack of funds others being family considerations.

Some of the considerations I have had, while weighing the possibility of entering the MT industry, have been, among others, the possibility of working medical transcription jobs at home. Medical transcription at home would create an environment that is   undisturbed and in peace and quiet. There is no doubt that you can be much more productive under those circumstances and deliver a flawless product in less time than if you were sitting in a busy office with constant activity around you. From the in-depth research I have done on the MT industry, it also appears that contrary to most other industries or fields, this is a growth area, based on the very simple fact that the so-called baby boomers will increasingly have to avail themselves of medical services. This will necessitate an increase in the need for professionals within every single field of Medicine. With my background as an Executive Assistant, Executive Secretary and Administrative Assistant I have obviously accumulated the practical and technical skills, which are the foundation for being an effective Medical Transcriptionist, add to that the course I already took as a Medical Secretary and Transcriptionist is the next logical step. But for me the most important advantage is that being slightly disabled, I don’t have to travel and can work at home.

This only requires a fairly short and straight forward commentary. I have performed intense research online into all the available courses, I could find. Future MT’s course outline appears to be superior to any other institutions’, which I was able to locate, while also inspiring a sense of quality. I was also impressed by the services offered upon completion of the course. However much I would like to be able to elaborate on the reasons why, I am interested in training with Future MT, I have no foundation to build on, because I have never before taken an online course in anything. This will be my first experience, but from what I have been able to glean from the web site – I am pretty sure it will be a very gratifying one. SN:0MA9N2ESY

My career goals are rather realistic, because they are based upon many years experience in the corporate world. By taking advantage of your organization’s expertise and experience, I am hoping to learn how to introduce my services to potential clients upon completion of the course and eventual certification. I am not sure exactly what to expect, but I have the benefit of living in a large city with several hospitals, medical centers and numerous medical doctors in private practice. I am hoping to have solicited and obtained accounts enough at the end of year one to keep me busy approximately six to seven hours a day. Beyond that is anybody’s guess. If I was younger, I might have indulged in dreams and plans of hiring qualified Transcriptionists and expand my services into a small, independent business, However, as it stands right now, I really only envision and hope for building up a client base to keep me busy, doing something I really love to do.

I am looking to start a new career. I have been married for seven years and I have two children. A son who will be four this fall and a daughter that just turned two this spring. I am currently expecting another child, with a twist, I am a surrogate for a couple who cannot have their own children. My family is very important to me and I love being able to spend time with them. I am a caring person and am always looking to help improve the lives of others if I can.

I would like to become an MT because I have always been interested in medical transcription work at home and I love to learn new things. I enjoyed the anatomy and physiology courses in high school and college and wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. I was on a waiting list for a great college for nursing and during the wait my husband and I got pregnant and ended up moving back to my hometown. I have not since pursued nursing but still really enjoy the thought of working in the medical field.

I now have two great children and have had the chance recently to spend a lot of time with them at home and it has been a blessing. My goal now is to find a career that is rewarding and gives me the opportunity to stay home and take care of my young children. My husband has a repair business that he runs from home and it has been great to be able to give him a hand when he needs it. I would love to still have the flexibility to help him and give attention to my children.

I am interested in training with Future MT because I appreciate the fact that Future MT is BBB accredited and there are so many success stories listed on the website. The research I have done is impressive and really like having all my questions answered in the FAQ section. I am excited about finishing the course and seeing what medical transcription jobs at home are available for me. SN:0MA9N2ESY

I look forward to finishing my training with Future MT and starting a career as an MT. I am excited about learning new things and being able to work from home at the same time. I am excited about being able to help my family financially through MT work and fulfill a goal of mine at the same time.

What are some advantages of working in the MT industry?

Some advantages of working medical transcription jobs at home especially for me is I have medical problems that will not allow me to work outside the home. These medical problems are my herniated discs in my back the doctors say that my back is not bad enough for surgery and because I chose to stay at home with my children I lack one year to getting Social Security Disability. I have hydrocephalus since I was very young and I have been in and out of the hospital getting periodical revisions. So I also have personal medical knowledge sometime I shock the doctors knowing what they are talking about because of my experiences both personally and professionally. This is why I feel I would do very well in the MT industry because I am ready and willing to learn more information about the medical records field.

So my family is suffering economically just as my other families are but I feel that if I was able to work from home I could better my family along with helping out the physicians and hospitals transcribed their records much faster being that I can work all day long. My children are school age and are not home all day. I am in the process of completing my associate’s degree in Health care administration at Phoenix University online. I will graduate in October of 2010. I feel that having the training of a Medical transcriptionist will only compliment my degree. I have worked for six years in the medical field as either a customer service representative for BCBS, a claims examiner for the same company and also a medical biller for a local hospital. I billed Medicare as tertiary electronically. So I have the medical terminology under my belt and even though it has been nine years since I have done any type of medical billing I still remember the procedure codes and ICD nine codes. This is why I feel that the advantages to working in the MT industry are rewarding and fun. SN:0MA9N2ESY

The flexibility of online medical transcriptionist jobs gives me the freedom of still being able to be a contributor to my family’s finance and still be a stay at home mom and be there for my family and take care of my children. I am in debt up to my ears because of the recent down turn in the economy because my husband works for a contributor to the car industry. When the car industry went down so did the call for my husband’s work which set us in a tailspin with our finances. Working at home would mean that I would be able to help dig us out of the hole that the rolling layoffs have helped put us in. My family needs me to get back into the workforce and this way I could and do something that I really like to do. So please consider me for a full grant so that I can do something to help my family in their time of need.

I am currently an RN in a small desert community of Southern California.  I would like to become a medical transcriptionist for many reasons.  You may say, “Is she crazy? She’s an RN. Why would she want to do medical transcription?”  Well, it goes like this.  Before my career as an RN, I was working in the medical field doing billing and collections for Hospitals.  I have also been a claims processor through an insurance company, processing medical bills from any medical provider, such as; Physicians, Hospitals, Radiology, Labs, Psychiatrists, etc…  In that job, I had to take a medical terminology course and from there, as you can imagine, my medical terminology has just increased.  From there, I received my LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) but the week before the graduation ceremony, my husband had a bad back injury through the railroad.  I was not able to attend my ceremony, but that was okay, the fact that I got my license was enough. However, new grads were not in high demand, and the accident forced me back to work in the field I was already in.  My husband is still disabled after back surgery, to this day, and we have been actively fighting for his right to Social Security disability benefits since 1999.  He still has yet to receive anything for disability.  His lawyers have not helped much in the matter, since it went to appeals, took more than a year for a response only for them to say the attorneys did not file in a timely manner.  They have proof they did, so we are still fighting.  In the midst of all this we have raised 6 children and now have 7 grandchildren.  No, I am not that old, only 47, but feel much older.  Well I did go back to school and got my RN, but all this time I have been the sole monthly income and now our three youngest are 19, 18 and 17 years old.  They still live at home and are trying to experience the world of College.  I recently went back to school one more time and at the end of August, will have my Bachelors of Healthcare Administration.  Unfortunately, it is at a cost of over $35,000.  It has just been a dream of mine to own my own business, and have so much more time to spend with my husband, children and grandchildren.  So all of this has been the great motivator and I believe home transcription is growing and will be a major wave of the future.

The advantages of medical transcription jobs at home include more time for family but I see so much more than that.  I believe I would be able to pass that blessing on to others who may be in similar situations and want to be able to work from home.  I would like to be able to see others helped through your training, and then possibly hire some of those to work for me so as to help the surrounding community.  At the same time I believe Physicians will find this type of program not only financially beneficial but organizationally beneficial.  Through digital technology, transcription can lighten their load and be done quickly, professionally and cost-effectively.  The fact that I have much medical terminology doesn’t hurt either. SN:0MA9N2ESY

In the next five to ten years, I see myself a very successful business owner/operator of a flourishing medical transcription company and each medical transcriptionist work at home, possibly venturing into an all inclusive medical billing operation as well. Either way, I do see myself very successful in the next five to ten years.
