I have worked in the credit and lending fields for most of my working career. After my layoff last year, I decided to enter into the medical field simply because the credit and lending field careers are limited these days due to the economy. I decided to take my career in a different direction. My wife has been an RN for the last 15 years and has motivated me to go back to school for EKG telemetry or at least something having to do with the health care. Since the EKG program certification takes about a year and a half to complete, I decided to get some experience as an MT. Hopefully my decision will pay off.

I believe that being an MT will allow me to pick up a lot of terms and verbiage that I would have not gotten otherwise. As mentioned before, this training course will teach me the ins and outs of the medical transcription industry. There appears to be a big demand for qualified applicants.
