Do you ever wonder if you chose the right career path in life? This is the question I ask myself on a daily basis. Did I make the right choice to work between 60-80 hours a week just to have six weeks off in the summer? Do I enjoy sitting and waiting for something to happen while I am at work so I will have something to do? I have recently realized that there is more to life than sitting at work, without the opportunity to leave. I have learned that I want more out of my career. I do not want to ask myself if I am happy or wonder if there is something else that I might be better suited for. I feel like I have hit a road block and life and I want to attempt something new.

A career change seems like a great start! These are the questions I ask myself every day. I enjoy my current profession. I love to help student athletes come back from an injury and finish playing a sport they love. I like to see the joy on their face when they are able to do the things they love. I consider all these choices when I look into a new career path. The opportunity to have flexible hours. The opportunity to be my own boss. The opportunity to travel, spend time with family. All of these things to consider. What a better way than to use my current medical knowledge and transform that into helping people from a different aspect.

Medical Transcription is a vital part of the physicians’ practice and one that could help save lives of every patient they see. I feel that some of the benefits for training with FutureMT, are to have the self paced atmosphere. I like to continue my education every day, but don’t have enough time during the day to dedicate to “college” atmosphere. I like the opportunity to increase my technology education by using the online course. I feel that I am a self motivated person and can complete this course, especially since I do not have the stress of deadlines to complete. I want to finish my MT training so I can have the opportunity to start medical transcription at home. SN:1MA0N2ESY

I would like to find a home typist jobs with several physicians and build a client base that trusts in my training and my professional skills. I feel that I have worked in a medical profession and have gained some very important contacts through my career. I feel that I can benefit these contacts further if I complete my medical transcription training. This would give me a new avenue in life. I want to see myself in 5, 10, maybe even 15 years working from home. Achieving more out of life than sitting in an office for hours on end just waiting and waiting. I want to be able to volunteer, maybe even mentor future medical transcriptionists. I want to be a part of a growing profession. One that I feel is beneficial to physicians, patients and myself.

There are several reasons why I would like to become a medical transcriptionist; the first of which is my husband’s health. My husband is a carpenter by trade and has spent over 15 years in the field. The difficulty of his line of work has taken its toll, and 2 years ago he was told that he needed to have back surgery. He was also told that because of the severity of damage to his spine that he would never be able to work as a carpenter or do any physical labor for the rest of his life. Unfortunately surgery at that point was not an option. My husband is the sole provider for our family. We had to make a plan. We decided that the best plan of action was for me to enroll in college, and once I completed my degree we would then look at revising our plans for his back surgery. home typist jobs

My schooling has been a long and difficult road. I am continuing to work towards my Associates Degree, but came to the realization not long ago, that finding a job outside of the home really isn’t going to be the best option once I complete my degree. That brings me to my second reason why I believe that medical transcription jobs at home would be a wonderful option for me as well as my family. My husband and I have two boys ages 8 and 9. We made the decision many years ago that I was going to home school them instead of sending them to school, and we take that decision very seriously. Although there is a possibility that my husband may be at home for several months after his surgery giving us the option of switching roles for a while; neither one of us looked beyond that to when he finds future employment. Seeing as I am the main provider of their education, it seems only logical that I look for a career that allows me the flexibility to work from my own home. This way I can continue to bring in an income during my husband’s recovery time while helping to nurse him back to health as well as while he is breaking into a new field himself. All while being able to continue home schooling our sons. SN:0MA9N2ESY

I’ve looked at several online medical transcription courses and there are several reasons why FutureMT caught my attention. First, they are accredited with the Better Business Bureau. I do not recall seeing that on any of the other sights that I visited. I am also very impressed with the guarantees offered. Not only that I am satisfied with the course and instruction, but in help finding my career afterwards as well. This says to me that Future MT is confident in what they have to offer, which makes me feel confident in selecting them as my choice. If I am selected to receive a scholarship I want to get started right away. I intend to reach my certification as quickly as possible, working at a full-time pace. Some things that I would like to see happen once I find my career as a MT would be to be able to maintain full time employment until my sons are older. Once they graduate then I may even look into beginning my own MT business.

Currently I run my own home daycare and love every minute of it but in the back of my mind I knew something was missing. I had my first child when I was only 18 years old. I always wanted to go to college after I graduated high school but it was hard to do that raising my daughter on my own. I had gone through several Jobs trying to find out what I would like to do with my life and what would be best for my baby but nothing I tried made us happy. Years had gone by and everyday was a struggle trying to get everything my child needed and deserved. I didn’t like living paycheck to paycheck because there was so many things I wanted to do for my daughter. I wanted him to go to a great school and participate in any program or activity she wished to be in. That never happened because it was enough of a struggle trying to pay the bills. SN:0MA9N2ESY

After having my second daughter I realized the only way I was going to give my kids the life they deserved was to go to back to school and get a career. I have always wanted to do something in the medical field but I didn’t know what to choose. I looked into home typist jobs and medical record jobs. After researching many options I decided Medical Transcription would be perfect for me. I get to help out in the medical field but I also get to be at home with my kids and never miss a moment as they grow, which is the most important thing to me. My youngest is only 1 and has been in and out of the hospital with casts and braces on her hips because she was born breech. She is now out of that but still needs attention and I would be glad to have a career to work and be by her side at all times. I am excited to train with Future Mt because it seems like it will benefit my life so much. I will be able to work and take the classes I need online without having to worry about making it to class. I have read a lot of other responses from other people who have gone through this program and I have not seen one disappointed person. I see that it is very easy to receive help in your courses and even get help in finding a job after you complete the training and that is very important to me. I want to go through this program as soon as I can so I can start a very exciting and rewarding Job. When I start working and making better money I hope to get married and see my children grow up to be proud of their mom and succeed in life themselves. So with all that being said I would love to go through this program, I just need any help financially I can get so I can put my life together and start helping others to succeed in their dreams too.

The economy has placed everyone in a bad situation. Unfortunately, the economy along with other problems has forced me into a poor financial situation. That is the reason I would like to become a Medical Transcriptionist. I am a self-employed woman trying to keep afloat in a business whose appointment volume has been cut in half since more consumers are pinching their pennies. In addition to that, my business is reliant on my equipment. Mostly, I rely upon a generator. That generator failed and could not be repaired. That closed the business down completely for 3 months while a new unit that would work for business specifications was found and financing obtained to purchase it.

This alone would have forced me to find another job to supplement my falling business income. However, new problems occurred. My sister, who was sharing a house and a mortgage payment with me, got married and moved out. Subsequently, she could not make her part of the mortgage payment and my house is now in foreclosure. I attempted to rent a room to supplement income and my cousin moved in. Unfortunately, he has been unable to make his rent payment most of the time and I have been supporting both of us.

Working in the Medical Transcription field has the main benefit of allowing me to work around my few appointments that I have with my business as I will be able to do this work from my home. Also, my sister is now pregnant and that will allow me to make myself available to babysit when she needs to leave for work. Also, as strange as it may seem, I have always enjoyed typing. That includes transcribing letters as someone dictates them to me. It was the part of my first job, at an insurance office, that I most enjoyed. It is almost impossible to find part-time home typist jobs with hours that would allow me to salvage my business that I have owned for 8 years. I would like to be able to continue that and have a second career that will help me weather the economic downturn and any economic hits in the future. SN:0MA9N2ESY

Future MT appealed to me since it is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Also, the assistance seems to be in place to help members find open jobs for Medical Transcriptionists. This is extremely important, especially in today’s economy. Everyone needs all of the support that they can get. As far as long term goals, I only have the goal of being a very reliable and productive Medical Transcriptionist. That will help me get through current and future issues. Also, in the next five years or so, I expect to be married and starting a family of my own. This career will allow me to be home with my family while providing financial security for them. I had always planned on going back to school, however, could not quite find the money to cover it. With full tuition, I would be able to put every spare moment into completing Future MT’s training program and then into being reliable and effective as a Medical Transcriptionist.

I have arrived at a time in my life that has motivated me to pursue an at home career path that would allow me to work independently yet provide an important function to the medical profession. My husband had an organ transplant several years ago and it changed my life and way of thinking. It was the most incredibly amazing life saving experience you could imagine, and I was fortunate to be a part of it from the moment a donor became available. Until someone actually is able to go through this process step by step, one has no conceivable idea of the miracle of life. The health care industry has evolved so very much over the last few years and has certainly become one of the most exciting and rewarding professions to be involved with.

I was never the type of person who felt she could be a nurse. I was always more the administrative person, though nurturing. Having worked for many years as an executive assistant for several corporate individuals with a variety of personalities, I am at a place in my life where I would like to utilize my organizational and administrative skills and work independently from the comfort of my own home, and, yes, spend more time with my family. I looked into home typist jobs and found jobs in medical transcription. Working as a medical transcriptionist would be far more rewarding as I feel I would be assisting those medical professionals who are at the forefront of this era of medical miracles, challenges and breakthroughs, and not just assisting a corporate executive make more money for himself.

In my search for at home work opportunities, it was suggested that I look into this profession based upon my administrative experiences. I am a self disciplined, self starter and have excellent typing and grammatical skills. I do work well on my own, and am challenged by variety. After doing my research, I realized that a medical transcriptionist position was of great interest to me, as it provides administrative support for a cause. Your online educational tools were also suggested to me as one of the best available. SN:0MA9N2ESY

Since I have not begun your program, I am not yet aware of the key elements or benefits your course has to offer other than the fact that it was highly recommended to me and that you do offer job placement for graduates of the course, which is of great interest to me. I have been a student all of my life, taking courses in various fields. I like to continue to learn, and I look forward to taking your course. I actually live in an area where hospitals and doctors and abundant and I understand from my job searches that the medical profession is always growing. Because of my desire to work at home, I see my future as a medical transcriptionist fulfilling my needs as not only a professional, but as contributing in some way back to the profession that gave us life. I see definitely working as an MT and potentially even marketing myself in the industry and perhaps inspire others that have not had the experiences I have. This profession would give me the flexibility I desire and allow me to feel a sense of accomplishment in a much needed profession at the end of the day.

My interest in MT began several years ago when I began searching for a career that would be more fulfilling. I have always been fascinated with medicine; even while obtaining my first degree in Anthropology, I was most fascinated with forensics, diet, disease and linguistics. I worked my way through college: it took 9 years to obtain my bachelor’s degree, as I had to work full-time while attending school part-time. I am seeking a program that will allow me to quickly and successfully achieve my goal of becoming a medical transcriptionist.

I am a mother of 3 children, and like many families, we have suffered severe hardship. My husband’s career is commission based, and therefore, we have some very lean months. Unfortunately, anthropologists are not in high demand, nor are they well paid. Although I am a self-taught bookkeeper, I would be forced to commute to find a job; requiring child-care and transportation costs. I did this for several years before I found that the cost of working away from home consumed most of my salary.

There are several advantages to working as a medical transcriptionist. Providing quality technical support for health care providers is important, but it is the care of the patient which is most critical. The providers rely on strong transcriptionists to relate their thoughts to a patient’s notes. As longevity continues to increase, the provision of quality health care technicians also increases; therefore medical transcription as a career will continue to grow, opening new opportunities every day. Like most home typist jobs or medical record jobs, my reasons for becoming a medical transcriptionist include my commitment to care, job availability, a flexible schedule, and the desire to make a difference in the life of my family and those of others.

Future MT piqued my curiosity more than the other programs I investigated. It offers a complete program at a fraction of the cost. In addition, the ability to apply for a scholarship directly through your program is encouraging. Having looked at all of the courses and online degree programs available, their course provides everything I need to learn about MT and makes my desire a very realistic goal. The course is thorough, and includes actual dictation notes for training, which is crucial when learning the combination of new terminology and dialect differences. In addition, the course is self-paced, which allows me to take the time to thoroughly understand a lesson before I move to the next one. Your program is by far the ideal course for my education as a medical transcriptionist. SN:0MA9N2ESY

The goals I wish to achieve as a medical transcriptionist are numerous. Personally, the ability to learn a new career at my age is rewarding in itself. I have always wanted to contribute to the medical community and now I have that opportunity. Additionally, I see the field of MT as one of great flexibility. I know that I have some hard work ahead of me, but within 2 years I plan to have enough experience and credentials to start my own medical transcription business. Having the drive to achieve and contribute, combined with my previous bookkeeping experience ensures my success.

I recently was affected by the current economic downturn & the company that I had devoted many years to suddenly went bankrupt. The private sector position that I held provided me with an excellent salary with outstanding benefits. The felling of hopelessness, fear and stress was indescribable. I was extremely fortunate to secure another position with excellent benefits but a salary level 35% less then was accustomed to. I gratefully accepted the position but was now faced with the 35% delta in my income. My initial focus was to provide for my children. As my children are preparing for college I am looking for additional ways to supplement my income in order to allow my children to attend college with no debt.

When I was of college age my parents could not afford to send me to college so the entire college experience was left to me including the financial responsibilities. As the cost of education is rising, as well as general living expenses, I determined this was going to be more difficult for them. I do not want to minimize their college experience with the worry that once they completed college they would be faced with mounds of debt as they were entering the workforce. Becoming a medical transcriptionist would allow me to supplement my current income in order to cover the expenses they will incur in the coming years and to start their careers with a positive outlook. As the population ages and the need for more medical care increases the MT industry as well as Future MT allows greater flexibility for individuals to not only service the medical industry but also provides the flexibility to complete the course work on my schedule and once I graduate work with my existing schedule. Medical transcription at home jobs provide huge advantages for not only stay at home parents but also individuals like me who want to supplement their current career. SN:0MA9N2ESY

I have always had an interest in the medical field but my career choices had taken me down a different path. This additional experience would allow me to be involved in the medical industry via a different avenue. Although my immediate goals are to supplement my income, I feel with a background in medical transcribing and the options it can provide to me, coupled with my prior work experience & education, I can look to the future as a business owner and manage my own company and hopefully in the future help individuals with similar situations like myself. My goal is to become self sufficient and to investigate all avenues that can provide me with that freedom. During my research of possible home typist jobs, I found that the Medical Transcription industry has the best offerings with its flexibility not only in the course work but also with career options it has to offer. For a hardworking, highly motivated individual like myself I will be able to set a goal & achieve it. I am excited and optimistic about the potential that Future MT can provide as well as the opportunities that lie ahead of me.

Being a Medical Transcriptionist is a hoped for career. There are advantages to being an MT or any home typist jobs; flexibility, extra income, and family time, just to name a few. The medical field is constantly growing. Since the field is continually growing, there are always new job/career opportunities becoming available. Having a career as an MT is a step in the right direction. Becoming an MT would be a good move for me. I love to type and am familiar with medical terminology. The flexible nature of this career is extremely ideal. Since I am already in the medical field in my current job, I feel I would excel in this program. I have wanted to begin training for medical transcription for a long time now.

Recently my husband significantly injured his dominant hand at work causing him to be partially disabled. His job is hands on, so the work is not always easy for him, and he is limited in what he can do. Since the job market is not at its best, he is compelled to stay at his job while having restrictions. He doesn’t do office work, and since I do and like being in front of a computer, this is a career fit for me. There are several advantages of working in the MT field. Flexibility is a major advantage. It gives you the opportunity to associate with your family more and continue to build those relationships. Also, if you already have a job, you can utilize medical transcription at home as a supplement to an insufficient income. An advantage for me would be that I am already familiar with the medical field and medical terminology. SN:0MA9N2ESY

In the hard economic times we are in, I am forced to search for further training for as little money as possible. If I can enhance my education without spending a lot of money, I would be thrilled. Given the fact that times are hard, I would still like to have a family. Having a career like MT would help start my future with my husband. Being an MT would give me the flexibility and extra income to fulfill those dreams. Medical transcription offers some educational and career advantages. Instead of having just a “job,” completing an MT program gives me the opportunity to have a Career. By starting now, I can be successful and on my way to achieving my goals for the future. Having this training will help further my knowledge in the medical field and can be useful all over. In my opinion, medical transcription seems to be perfect because it offers flexibility to continue with your normal life and keep building your familial relationships. It is also a jump start into a new future..

My husband is going through a mid-life crisis. He met a younger woman at work and now we are going through a divorce so he can be with his “soul mate”. After 37 years of marriage, it is imperative that I find a career that will make me feel like I’m doing something worthwhile and is interesting. I think that hearing and transcribing the different reports, notes, and studies would be extremely interesting and educational. Another advantage to this career path would be that it can pay well. I need to be able to support myself. I believe that becoming a medical transcriptionist would fulfill my needs. The flexibility to work from home is a huge advantage especially since I plan to move from Arizona where there is no significant winter to New Hampshire which has severe winters. Since I’ve forgotten how to drive in the snow and ice, the ability to work from home would be a literal life saver. The advantage of being able to work my own schedule is also important. I’m moving to be near my mother who is 90 years old. She is in excellent health but I need to be able to give her time and attend to her needs if her health changes but still be able to support myself and earn an income. SN:0MA9N2ESY

I wanted to find home typist jobs and when I was looking for medical transcription at home jobs, I found that Future MT’s training course is geared to training someone like me who has no prior experience in the field. Taking the course at my own pace is a plus since I’ve been out of the work force for some time. One thing that impressed me is that MT uses actual physician’s dictation instead of an actor. The voice patterns and noise background would present a realistic dictation and therefore better preparation for the actual job. I believe that grouping the dictations by medical specialty is an excellent way to have the student learn each department’s medical terms and procedures and differentiate between the specialties. The access to their staff to answer questions or give assistance is a wonderful benefit. It helps the student feel that they are not alone with no one at the end of their computer. Finally, at the completion of the course, the access to The Job Assistance Department is a most welcome advantage rather than finishing the course and not knowing how to proceed next to get a job and use the training that was just completed. I plan to work as an MT for quite a few years in the future. I would like to stay on top of the business and keep learning. Eventually I believe I would like to expand my horizons and start my own business. It’s great that there are these options in this career field. It’s not a boring dead end job with no future. That is very uplifting and builds confidence in a person. The more confidence a person has the higher they can reach to achieve their goals.

It is no new news to anyone in the country that the economy has hit rock bottom. Everyone is looking for work and it is really a tough market out there for an administrative assistant. Newly graduated MBAs are even looking to be an administrative assistant and so with that stiff competition; it’s really hard to get a job, let alone a good-paying job.

I currently work for the state of California, full-time. Recently, we were hit with pay cuts and mandatory furloughs, which made state workers lose about 15% of our pay across the board, including managers and the regular rank and file. I also travel an hour from home to work each morning and an hour back each night on the train, which takes me out of my own house for 12 hours a day. I rarely get to spend time with my family, even if I am recently married. I sought other means to compensate for the shortage in pay, without having to sacrifice even more time out of my home. I recently started working a home business, but it has been slow going. Unfortunately for me, I do not think selling is my specialty. And spending the fees on the monthly overhead and advertisements that really gained nothing back for me is also getting to be a little annoying.

I came across an article on the Internet about legitimate work-at-home or home typist jobs and found that medical transcribers can work from home and make a decent wage. I had always thought about this, but was afraid to try because of the cost and the time it would take to train. But I came across Future MT’s website and noticed that the tuition was fairly low – lower than I had expected, and they even offered free tuition through a sweepstakes contest. That was a great incentive for me to step forward. I have always enjoyed helping people and the medical industry will always need workers. I believe that even though technology has come a long way to make things easier for doctors, they will always need transcribers because doctors are so busy and have so much work to do, they do not have the time to type up their own reports. SN:0MA9N2ESY

Working in medical transcription at home would mean that I would have more time to spend with my family and not be so tired all the time, the flexibility of working from home in a legitimate job, and actually being able to be proud of what I do for doctors and specialists. It’s a necessary job opportunity and there seems to be a shortage of medical transcribers, which would give someone who graduates from this program an excellent opportunity to get a very stable job. I would still be able to have my “day” job, but I would not be so dependent upon it and so stressed when they start mentioning pay cuts. I may welcome the furloughs because that would give me more time to work the medical transcription job and have some extra free time for my family.

In the future, my husband and I plan to move out of state. We are getting tired of the games the government plays with our pay and benefits. But being a medical transcriber would allow me to move without worry about income. I would be able to work anywhere, even in Alaska if I had the inclination. In the future, I hope to inspire others to pursue this avenue of medical transcription by sharing my story. Maybe I will pursue a degree or open my own business. Because I am taking this first step, those options are all open to me.
